What Is This About?
Two AT&T data incidents exposed sensitive customer information:
AT&T 1 (March 30, 2024): Personal data (names, SSNs, account info) was posted on the dark web.
AT&T 2 (July 12, 2024): Call-related data was illegally downloaded from a third-party cloud platform (Snowflake). (Settlement Agreement Dkt. 283-1; Page 3, Para 5)
Lawsuits from both incidents were consolidated into one settlement approved by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Total of $177 Million Settlement
The settlement fund is divided as follows:
$149 million for AT&T 1 claims
$28 million for AT&T 2 claims
Class members may qualify for one or both, depending on the data involved.
Who May Qualify?
Did you have an AT&T account on or before July 12, 2024? (This includes wireless, internet, or combined accounts as an owner, line user, or end user.)
You may be part of the settlement if:
Your personal data was included in the AT&T 1 Data Incident (March 2024 breach) or
You were an AT&T account owner, line user, or end user whose call-related data was exposed in the AT&T 2 Data Incident (July 2024 breach) or
You are an Overlap Settlement Class Member (in both groups).
Note: You may have received an email from attsettlement@e.emailksa.com with your Class Member Claim ID. If you haven’t received a notice, we can assist with contacting the settlement administrator to inquire/retrieve your Claim ID.
Estimated Individual Payouts
AT&T 1 (March 2024 breach):
Up to $5,000 (Documented Losses, with proof of losses from 2019 or later)
Tier 1 Cash Payment: SSN exposed (highest payout—5× Tier 2 amount; pro rata share of Net Settlement Fund after costs and fees)
Tier 2 Cash Payment: Other personal data exposed, but not SSN (pro rata share of Net Settlement Fund after costs and fees)
AT&T 2 (July 2024 breach):
Up to $2,500 (Documented Losses, with proof of losses on or after April 14, 2024)
Tier 3 Cash Payment: Pro rata share of AT&T 2 Net Settlement Fund (after costs and fees)
Overlap Class Members:
May claim for both, with unique documentation per claim
Potential total up to $7,500
What You'll Need to File
Your Notice ID/Class Member ID (if you received a mailed or emailed notice from attsettlement@e.emailksa.com)
If you did not receive a notice, we'll assist with inquiring/requesting your Notice ID. You will need:
AT&T account number or phone number
Your name, address, and email associated with the AT&T account
For Documented Loss Claims:
Receipts, bank/credit statements, police reports, or other non-self-prepared proof that your losses are tied to the breach
For Tier Payments:
No documentation required (only eligibility verification)
